There are seven flower beds in the Village. Grants were obtained from the Kent County Council's Member Fund for the initial set up.
Sponsorship for three of the flower beds is provided by a village business.
 THE ROSE AND CROWN PUBLIC HOUSE sponsor the flower beds in Station Road by the bus shelter and have done so for many years. They have now agreed to part sponsor the new flower bed at the entrance to the Recreation Ground.
Many thanks to the Rose & Crown who raised over £180 in 2007, and a further £132 in 2008 for the upkeep of the flowerbeds, from their monthly Sunday Quiz.
 There is now no sponsorship for the flowerbeds at Southdene as the sponsor has decided to withdraw.
